MSS54 to MSS54HP Conversion

Convert an eligible standard MSS54 DME to MSS54HP hardware specification. Kassel Performance installs the required capacitors and H-bridge circuitry so the DME can support compatible CSL firmware and the factory-style motorized intake flap when the rest of the required hardware is installed.

The conversion resets the ISN, so EWS must be synchronized or deleted as appropriate for the vehicle. Full CSL firmware is written directly to the DME through BDM. This is the genuine CSL binary, not a partial hybrid file.

Early 2001–2003.5 E46 M3s commonly use the non-HP MSS54 and require this hardware conversion before supported CSL software can be installed. Include the chassis, production date, DME type, intake configuration and intended EWS workflow with the order.
