Kassel Performance provides remote calibration support for supported Link G4, G4+ and G4X standalone ECU installations. This guide explains how to install the correct software, connect to the ECU, load an approved calibration and send usable datalogs.
Do not change calibration tables, trigger settings, ignition synchronization or safety limits unless Kassel specifically directs you to do so.
Software and file types
Download the appropriate PCLink software from the official Link ECU website. G4, G4+ and G4X ECUs use different software, so confirm the ECU generation first.
- .pclr — ECU calibration or tune file
- .llg — datalog file sent to Kassel for review
Connecting to the ECU
- Connect the laptop to the ECU using the correct communication cable.
- Turn the ignition to Run without starting the engine.
- Open the correct PCLink software.
- Select ECU Controls → Connect to ECU.
- Confirm that PCLink displays Online.

Loading an approved calibration
- Confirm PCLink is online.
- Open the calibration supplied by Kassel.
- Approve downloading the file to the ECU.
- Select Store when prompted so it remains after power-off.
- Do not load an unidentified or older file.


Save copies as LastName_Revision_Description, for example Smith_03_AfterThrottleCalibration.
First start and logging
After first start, record a 30–60 second startup and idle log, shut the engine down, inspect for leaks and belt or wiring problems, and send the log with the current calibration before continuing.
- Open Logging.
- Select Record.
- Perform only the procedure Kassel requested.
- Select Stop.
- Save the .llg file with the owner, revision and test description.

TPS, electronic throttle and cam-angle setup
Some installations require TPS, electronic-throttle or variable-cam calibration. Perform these procedures only when Kassel confirms they apply. Electronic-throttle setup is normally performed with the ignition on and engine stopped; cam-angle calibration is normally performed while idling.

Ignition synchronization
Ignition synchronization is safety-critical. An incorrect value can cause severe engine damage. Do not adjust it without direct instructions from Kassel. If asked to verify it, use the approved timing-light procedure, eye protection and a correctly marked crankshaft reference, then report the measured result before changing anything.

No-start checks
- Battery above 12 volts before cranking
- At least approximately 10.5 volts while cranking
- Approximately 175–225 RPM cranking speed for typical supported applications
- Stable ECU power and grounds
- Fuel pressure present while cranking
- Correct fuel-pump output configuration
- A saved cranking datalog
Do not pump the accelerator. A no-start request without a datalog provides limited diagnostic information.
What to send Kassel
- Customer and vehicle name
- ECU model and serial number
- Current .pclr calibration
- Requested .llg datalog
- Calibration revision and test description
- Fault information and relevant wiring photos
Calibration cannot correct unsafe wiring, incorrect sensor configuration, inadequate fuel delivery or mechanical faults.
