Standalone ECU & PDM Calibration

Kassel Performance provides standalone engine-management and power-distribution calibration for custom BMW, engine-swap, motorsport and specialty vehicle projects.

Our primary standalone ECU platforms are Syvecs and Link ECU. We can also support calibration and configuration work for compatible programmable power distribution modules (PDMs).

Standalone ECU calibration

  • Initial ECU configuration and base-map development
  • Fuel, ignition, boost and torque-control calibration
  • Drive-by-wire, idle, cold-start and transient tuning
  • Flex-fuel and staged or supplemental-fueling strategies
  • Electronic wastegate and boost-control setup
  • CAN-bus integration with supported vehicle modules, displays and controllers
  • Datalog review, protection strategies and motorsport functions
  • Dyno and road-validation support where appropriate

Primary platforms

Syvecs

Configuration and calibration support for compatible Syvecs standalone engine-management installations, including custom and high-output applications.

Link ECU

Configuration and calibration support for compatible Link ECU installations, from engine swaps and street builds to dedicated competition vehicles.

Platform and firmware compatibility must be verified before scheduling. Listing these platforms describes Kassel’s tuning capability and does not imply manufacturer affiliation or authorized-dealer status.

PDM calibration and integration

Kassel can configure supported programmable power distribution systems for projects that require controlled electrical loads, motorsport logic and CAN integration. Work may include:

  • Input and output assignment
  • Current limits, shutdown behavior and circuit protection
  • Fuel-pump, fan, intercooler-pump and auxiliary-device control
  • Keypad, switch and status-indicator logic
  • Conditional control strategies and fault handling
  • CAN communication with compatible ECUs, dashboards and controllers
  • Documentation and functional testing of the approved configuration

A PDM configuration is not a substitute for properly sized wiring, grounding, circuit protection or professional installation. Safety-critical outputs require documented design review and functional testing.

What we need to quote the project

  • Vehicle, engine, transmission and intended use
  • ECU and PDM manufacturer, model and firmware version
  • Complete engine, turbo, fuel-system and sensor list
  • Wiring documentation and CAN-device list
  • Existing calibration files and logs, if available
  • Fuel type and expected power range
  • Whether the vehicle is running, partially commissioned or a new build
  • Any required motorsport functions, protections or integration goals

Project process

  1. Compatibility review: confirm the hardware, firmware, wiring documentation and project scope.
  2. Configuration: establish inputs, outputs, sensors, communication and protection strategies.
  3. Calibration: develop and validate the engine or PDM behavior for the approved combination.
  4. Verification: review logs, fault behavior, safeguards and operation before final handoff.

Pricing: Standalone ECU and PDM projects are quoted individually because scope varies substantially. Contact Kassel Performance with the project information above to begin the review.

Calibration cannot correct unsafe wiring, incorrect sensor configuration, inadequate fuel delivery or mechanical faults. Competition configurations must comply with all applicable rules and vehicle-use requirements.
