BMW Stock ECU Tuning & DME Services

Kassel Performance Factory BMW DME Specialists

BMW Stock ECU Tuning & DME Services

Our marquee factory-ECU platforms are the BMW MSS54/MSS54HP and Siemens MS41.x, MS42 and MS45 families. These are the systems Jim and Matt work with most—and where Kassel’s calibration, swap integration, coding and board-level electronics experience come together.

We support local vehicles, mailed-in DMEs and remote services where the platform and project allow.

Next-generation BMW calibration

Modern turbo platforms with Bend Calibration

After our core MSS54 and MS4x factory-DME work, Kassel supports modern BMW turbo-engine calibration through our working relationship with Bend Calibration. Kassel reviews the vehicle, hardware, fuel system, DME access and intended use, then coordinates the correct calibration workflow for the approved combination.

B58 Custom Calibration

Supported B58 combinations from stock hardware and bolt-ons through approved upgraded-turbo, flex-fuel and auxiliary-fueling builds.

S58 Custom Calibration

Supported S58 applications from stock-turbo street cars through reviewed upgraded-turbo and high-output combinations.

S55 Calibration

Bend Calibration is Kassel’s preferred S55 calibration partner at any stage, from stock-turbo street cars through high-output builds.

Matt also offers a defined in-house BM3 calibration path for a supported direct-injection-only hybrid-turbo and flex-fuel combination. This package typically targets approximately 700–750 WHP, depending on the vehicle, fuel, hardware, conditions and dyno.

Kassel BM3 DI-only S55 combination

  • BM3 flex-fuel calibration
  • Kassel DW810 low-pressure fuel pump
  • Dorch Lift fuel-system upgrade
  • Mosselman Stage 2 hybrid turbos or an approved equivalent
  • S63 EU5 direct injectors
  • Wagner intercooler

This is the normal upper boundary of Matt’s in-house S55 package. Builds using port injection, MOTIV ReFlex integration or combinations beyond this DI-only range are handled with Bend Calibration.

Planned development: porting the Kassel S55 BM3 strategy to MHD. MHD availability remains a development goal and is not currently advertised as a completed offering.

Specialist calibration network

Kassel also maintains a working relationship with Doug at Subpar Tuning. When a project benefits from a specialist outside our primary in-house or Bend workflow, we can review the combination and determine the appropriate calibration path.

Application review comes first; we do not automatically assign every vehicle to the same tuner or platform.

Two disciplines, one complete DME service

Jim handles much of Kassel’s board-level soldering, DME/ECU repair and current-generation EWS software implementation. Matt focuses heavily on calibration, vehicle behavior, swap integration and how the DME works with the engine and chassis as a complete system. Shared ownership and years of work on these BMW platforms allow us to approach hardware, software and vehicle integration together.

That matters because a “bad tune” can be a hardware fault, a failed power supply, incorrect coding, damaged wiring, an engine problem or a mismatch between the DME and the vehicle. We diagnose the system before assuming the file is the problem.

What we need from you

  • VIN, model, production year and engine
  • DME family and hardware information when known
  • Manual, automatic or SMG transmission
  • Current engine and vehicle modifications
  • Fuel used
  • Fault codes and a clear description of the problem
  • Whether the DME is original, replacement or previously modified
  • Whether the vehicle is stock-chassis or an engine swap

Not sure which service you need?

Send us the vehicle and DME information before ordering. We will direct you to the correct platform and service path.
