MSS54 Platform | Local, Mail-In or Remote Flash Available
CSL-based ECU firmware (0401 Software) calibration designed to improve throttle response, drivability, and overall engine performance. Available in multiple tiers depending on the level of customization and support required.
Standard CSL Feature Set (Included)
All tunes are delivered with the following performance-oriented configuration:
- Speed limiter removed
- Shift lights enabled (CSL-style)
- Sport mode memory (retains last setting)
- Secondary Air Pump (SAP) deleted
- Rear O2 sensor hardware & monitoring removed
- Raised rev limit to 8200 RPM
These settings are applied by default but can be adjusted upon request prior to delivery.
Important: If emissions compliance or factory-like behavior is required, this must be specified before ordering. Default configurations may not support emissions readiness.
Tuning Options
1. OTS CSL Tune (Base File)
Best for standard, well-documented setups.
- Pre-configured CSL-based calibration
- Designed for common bolt-on combinations
- Improved throttle response and drivability over stock
- Safe, conservative calibration strategy
Support Level:
- Minimal support
- No revisions included
- No troubleshooting beyond basic flashing guidance
Who this is for:
Customers with straightforward setups who want a solid improvement without the need for refinement.
2. OTS+ (Refined Base Tune)
A middle ground that avoids full custom workload but gives flexibility.
- OTS base file with minor adjustments
- Small revisions based on your setup (fuel type, basic hardware differences)
- Maintains CSL strategy with improved optimization
Support Level:
- Limited revisions (1–2 adjustments)
- Basic log review (if needed)
Who this is for:
Customers who are close to a standard setup but want it dialed in slightly better.
3. Full Custom CSL Tune
This is the real product.
- Fully custom calibration built around your exact setup
- Fuel, ignition, VANOS, torque modeling, and drivability all optimized
- Iterative revisions based on logs and feedback
- Designed for maximum performance and refinement
Support Level:
- Full support and revision process
- Data log review and adjustment cycles
- Direct involvement throughout tuning process
Who this is for:
Performance builds, non-standard setups, or customers who want it done right the first time.
Flashing Options
Mail-In Service
Send in your DME and receive a fully programmed unit ready to install.
Remote Flashing
Flash your ECU from home using:
- Windows-based laptop
- Stable internet connection
- MSS5x Quickflash (required)

Important Notes
- Not supported: ARH-style 6-1 header configurations
- Remote tuning requires MSS5x Quickflash — no alternatives supported
- If you cannot successfully read your ECU, do not purchase remote tuning
- OTS and OTS+ tunes are not eligible for full custom support

Upgrading to MSS54HP and CSL hardware provides the proper foundation for full CSL-based tuning and maximum performance potential.
Flashing Requirements (READ BEFORE PURCHASE)
Remote flashing requires:
- Windows-based laptop
- Stable internet connection
- K+DCAN cable (or equivalent)
- MSS5x Quickflash
Battery Charger Requirement (CRITICAL)
A stable power supply is mandatory during flashing:
- Recommended: 10–20 amp battery charger or power supply
- Ideal: regulated supply maintaining 13.5–14V
Do NOT use:
- Low-amperage trickle chargers
- Weak or unstable batteries
Voltage drop during flashing can corrupt the DME and require bench recovery.
Pre-Flash Checklist
Before flashing, ensure:
- Battery fully charged and charger connected
- Laptop plugged in (no sleep/hibernation enabled)
- Ignition remains stable throughout process
- All accessories OFF (lights, HVAC, radio, etc.)
Additional Notes & Recommendations
- All files are locked and encrypted
- Vehicles without factory-style dual exhaust are strongly recommended to select OTS+ or Custom tuning
- For best results:
- Install fresh spark plugs
- Verify VANOS operation (recent test/pass)
Important Policies
Flashing Responsibility
Customer is responsible for ensuring proper setup and following all flashing instructions. Failed flashes due to improper setup are not covered.
Hardware Condition Disclaimer
Drivability or performance issues caused by mechanical faults (vacuum leaks, VANOS issues, fuel system problems, etc.) are not related to tuning.
Revisions (OTS+ / Custom Only)
Revisions require proper data logs in the specified format. Incomplete or incorrect data will delay the process.
After Purchase
You will be contacted to provide:
- Full vehicle modification list
- Fuel type being used
- Current ECU software/version (if known)
- Any known issues or concerns
Final Note
This is not a generic file. Each calibration is built or adjusted with intent. If your setup falls outside of typical configurations, selecting the correct tuning tier is critical to achieving proper results.
